Joining Damien on the last Countrywide of the year are Amii McKeever is a scientist and editor of Irish Country Living in the Farmers Journal, Patsy McGarry is Religion Correspondent for the Irish Times and a well known writer on rural Ireland, Seamus O’Rourke carries the live performance conscience of the whole Midlands border region on his broad shoulders, Anna Marie McHugh is one of the several women who run the NPA and the annual Ploughing Championships, working closely with her mother, Anna May. Pat Shortt is the embodiment of that strand of self deprecating and ridiculous humour so typical of rural Ireland. The Kilkennys are the most successful folk and ballad group that are not a household name here yet as they return from yet another foreign tour to join us.
