All this week on Nationwide, the series is marking its 25th anniversary with a week of programmes looking back on some highlights from the years gone by including an interview with Michael Ryan, the programme's first presenter, and a look back at some of the many talented musicians who have appeared on the show over the years. 

Monday 19th November, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

The first of the special programmes to honour Nationwide’s 25th anniversary features an interview with Michael Ryan, the show’s first ever presenter to find out why Nationwide became one of the country’s longest running and best loved programmes.

 

Wednesday 21st November, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

In the second birthday special to celebrate Nationwide turning 25,  the team look back at some of the hundreds of musicians who have appeared on the programme over the years and opens the archives to remind everyone of some of the more unusual craft and cottage industries featured over the last two decades.

 

Friday 23rd November, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

In the final programme to celebrate Nationwide turning 25, the team revisits one story that touched everyone’s hearts.  The programme talks to Claudia Scanlon a very brave girl living with Epidermolysis Bullosa  (EB) –  who first featured on the programme when she was just six years old. Now she is 14 and about to sit her Junior Certificate.
