Episode 2

Pat Shortt is back with a new series of his much loved music archive series, Pat Shortt’s Music from D’Telly. The programmes feature many a magnificent melody, a slew of tall tales and improbable stories alongside a carefully selected assortment of music related reportage from over 50 years of RTE Archive.

A 20 year old Amy Winehouse, on the occasion of her very first RTE appearance, opens tonight’s programme and Robbie Williams incendiary Late Late Show appearance delights the mostly female audience.  Pat also looks back at the life and times of a 1970’s government appointed and wandering Song Collector and a screening of a rarely seen 1982 interview with Rory Gallagher -featuring some stunning acoustic slide guitar playing- is sure to delight Gallagher fans.  A once off television performance by Jim Mc Cann and songwriter Ralph Mc Tell of Ralphs’ classic emigration tale ‘From Claire to Here’ complete the programme.
