St. Enda’s College in Salthill in Galway is celebrating 90 years this week since it first opened its doors on 23 October 1928, and the programme will be broadcast live from there today.  Originally, the school was an all-boys boarding school, and was part of the preparatory college network with most pupils moving on to St Pat’s in Drumcondra afterwards.  Past pupils include sean-nós singer Joe Heaney, journalist Breandán Ó hEithir, hurler Joe Connolly and former GAA President Joe McDonagh.   Today, the school is a co-educational day school, with 70 teachers and 780 pupils of 46 different nationalities.    Presenter Séamus Ó Scanláin speaks to pupils and staff past and present on the show today.
