Mary will be joined in studio by Norah Casey, Sister Stanislaus Kennedy, Francis Brennan, Oliver Callan, to set the scene for tonight’s Festival of Families – a spectacular Catholic celebration of all things family, in the presence of Pope Francis, with commentary by Marty Whelan. Families from all over the world will convene at Croke Park to witness the celebration featuring artists Daniel O’ Donnell, Nathan Carter, Andrea Boccelli, Paddy Moloney, the Riverdance Troupe and The Priests.

RTÉ will broadcast live coverage of the visit of Pope Francis to Ireland throughout Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August, across RTÉ One, RTÉ2, RTÉ News Now, RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player. As host broadcaster RTÉ will provide comprehensive live coverage of Pope Francis’ public engagements in Ireland, free to Irish, European and other international broadcasters.
On RTÉ One there will be live rolling coverage of the public events, including the Pope’s visit to Áras an Uachtarain and Dublin Castle, on Saturday, while live coverage of The Festival of Families event on Saturday evening at Croke Park will be broadcast on RTÉ2. On Sunday, live coverage on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now will include the Pope’s visit to Knock and the papal Mass in the Phoenix Park.
