Rachel Yoder is an Irish writer based in New York. Her best friend is writer Stefanie Preissner who is based in Dublin. The physical separation of 3000 miles has not damaged their friendship - they speak numerous times every single day. Recognising this feat they decided to explore the concept of friendship and what it means. So in this series they look at relationships that we were born into, fell into, forced out of and chose to be in. These are all 'Situationships'.

In this episode Stefanie Preissner and Rachel Yoder look at relationships between housemates. 

They themselves have never lived together, though they did meet in college a time when your socialisation process is taken up a notch as you can find yourself – as they both did – co-habiting with strangers.

Your relationship with a housemate is the very epitome of a ‘situationship’ and in this programme they go back to people they first lived with in college, one of Rachel’s New York flatmates, Stefanie’s current housemate and two parents who have found themselves co-habiting with their adult sons. Also they will address the evergreen question – could they themeselves, best friends as they are, ever live together?
