Episode 8 – Eggs

At this time of year eggs are being laid in almost every inch of the land… but not just by birds!  Insects and fish lay eggs in April too.  That eggs are produced by reptiles and birds alike is no coincidence, both are descended from a common reptilian ancestor.  This episode explores why eggs are shaped as they are, the physics of the egg and shell itself, and the importance of timing the production well.
