In an RTÉ Player exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ extra watch Dermot, Daniel and Majella step back from heated discussions of ‘secret’ doors and oak finishes to blow off some steam on a mini road trip belting out some classic tunes along the way in Dermot’s Donegal Duet. In a bizarre twist on the Kings of Leon hit, it’s Majella’s bottom that is on fire as Dermot cranks up the heated car seats on a road trip that only dreams are made of. Emmy® and Golden Globe® winning hit drama Homeland returns for a seventh season where, following an assassination attempt on her life, President Keane broke her promise to Carrie Matheson by arresting 200 members of the intelligence community without bringing charges against them, including Saul Berenson. As season seven begins, Carrie has left her job in the White House and moved back to D.C. and is living with her sister Maggie to take on the Keane administration and secure the release of the 200. It’s up to Carrie to prove that not all conspiracies are theories. From the test track to towns and cities across Ireland How’s Your Driving? takes a frank and honest look at our nations motoring abilities. Over four episodes, a cross section of Irish drivers will be put through their paces on a controlled test track where the drivers will experience how factors like alcohol and drugs, speeding, using a mobile phone or unsafe tyres actually affect their driving abilities and see first-hand, how adding speed affects their ability to emergency break or avoid hazards. Having seen the causes, our test drivers will then come face-to-face with the long-lasting effects of poor driving habits when they sit down with some of the people whose lives have been devastated by fatal collisions on Irish roads. Simon will also find out how our driving skills compare internationally and what the people who drive our roads for a living think of sharing them with the rest of us. To drive a car in Ireland you are supposed to have an intimate knowledge of the Rules of the Road and we will be hitting the streets of Ireland to find out just how much our motoring nation actually know. In Condemned to Remember Tomi concludes his quest to bring the convicted SS War Criminal, Hilde Michnia, to account for her secrets and lies. In Eastern Europe he confronts the “crisis of shame” that prevents an honest reckoning with the scale of the local collaboration and “collusion” with the Nazi extermination project. In Bosnia, Tomi embraces Muslim survivors of genocide, who still search for the bones of their loved ones. Along the way he puts himself into the shoes of the “new Jews” of the 21stCentury and discovers a strong common bond with refugees fleeing the hell that is Syria and other war torn regions of the world. 70 years after the crushing of the Third Reich, is civil society in the countries that were decimated by the Final Solution being degraded and disfigured once again by old poisonous prejudices?
