The Nathan Carter Christmas Special, St Stephen’s Day, RTÉ One at 9.20pm
What better way to celebrate Christmas than in the company of Nathan Carter, as he hosts a very special festive show for RTE One viewers!
Backed by his impressive 17-piece band, Nathan is in his element as he belts out his favourite festive songs, as well as some very special duets with his famous musical guests – including former Spice Girl Mel C, legendary American singer Curtis Stigers, and Una Healy.
Viewers will be captivated by Canadian family group The Fitzgeralds’ unique blend of traditional music and step-dancing. Of course Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a children’s choir and Nathan is joined by the St Patrick’s Junior Choir – the schoolchildren who melted Simon Cowell’s heart on Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year. Plus watch out for some light-hearted sibling rivalry when Jake Carter joins his big brother for a surprise appearance on stage!
Nathan is in sparkling form as he chats to guests, and reminisces about Christmas celebrations in the Carter household. He says “I’m delighted to be celebrating Christmas once again with RTE viewers. This Christmas Special has everything – a fantastic line-up, amazing music, and the backdrop of one of Ireland’s most beautiful venues. All the viewers have to do is sit back and enjoy the show – just leave the rest to me!”
Filmed in front of an enthusiastic audience (including his very proud family!) in Belfast’s iconic Grand Opera House, The Nathan Carter Christmas Show is a musical and visual treat for viewers of all ages, making it an appointment to view for family audiences to enjoy together during the Christmas holidays.
The Nathan Carter Christmas Show was made by Tyrone Productions as a co-production for RTÉ and BBC Northern Ireland. It was directed by John L Spencer and produced by Dolores Comerford and Patricia Moore.
