BORD GÁIS ENERGY IRISH BOOK AWARDS 2017
The annual Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards brings together the entire literary community – readers, authors, booksellers, publishers and librarians – to recognise and celebrate the very best of Irish literary talent.
The 2017 shortlist features a diverse array of acclaimed authors like Bernard MacLaverty, John Connolly, Frank McGuinness and well-known Irish personalities, including Dustin the Turkey, Francis Brennan, Blindboy, Maia Dunphy, Vogue Williams and Ryan Tubrity. Celebrated sporting figures this year include Kieran Fallon, Shay Given, Sean Kelly & Stephen Roche, celebrity chefs and food writers Rachel Allen, Neven Maguire and Roz Purcell and fiction favourites Cecelia Ahern, Patricia Scanlan, Marian Keyes, Sinéad Moriarty and Ross O’Carroll Kelly. This years recipient of the Bord Gáis Energy International Recognition award will be David Walliams and the Bob Hughes Lifetime Achievement award will be awarded to Eavan Boland.
Presented by Keelin Shanley and Evelyn O’Rourke, highlights of this year’s ceremony will be broadcast on RTÉ One on 28th November at 21.30.
