Episode 3

There’s a distinct ‘slice of Soul’ to to-night’s archive adventure. Pat Shortt has unearthed rarely seen footage from Michael Bolton and BB King encounters Bibi Baskin, Phil Collins delights a 1980s Late Late Show audience while a black and white video clip from The Blades back catalogue and a stunning performance of a certified classic by Simply Red are sure to impress.

The glorious musicianship of Louis Stewart is profiled and we’ll also hear from a blue eyed soul singer from Limerick, the late Eugene Wallace, who happened to be Phil Collins’ favourite singer. And on a completely different note, Bill Whelan is in conversation with the iconic 20TH century composer and conductor Elmer Bernstein.
