On the first of Pat’s new series of archive based music shows he’s uncovered some rare material on Irish song-writer Jimmy Kennedy who, prior to the Beatles, was the most successful European purveyor of pop to hit America, writing chart topping songs for a whole slew of recording stars including Bing Crosby who also appears in to-night’s programme.
Brush Shiels is also featured as is ‘outlaw’ country-music legend Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash is in cracking form from Cork’s Opera House and John Denver delights thousands of singing revellers in a field in Munster!
