EPISODE 3 – VOGUE: FOR LOVE OR MONEY?

Sugar Daddies, Sugar Mommas and Sugar Babies are all terms that exist in the world of online sugar dating where websites are matching up rich older men and women with young attractive partners so that both can mutually benefit from the arrangement. Vogue explores the phenomenon from both perspectives as she learns from sugar dating guru, Brook Urick, that there are reportedly 22,000 Irish people signed up to one sugar dating website alone, looking to live the lavish dating lifestyle. Vogue herself has been propositioned by rich older men on twitter and is intrigued to find out more about the benefactor, sugar baby relationship and so she meets the sugar babies having sex for gifts and exotic holidays, and dines with Danish sugar daddy, Lars, who believes that women exist to be spoiled. At a Dublin Sugar Coaching Event, Vogue gets tutored on how a sugar baby should behave before heading to Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival to see just how far digital dating has brought us from the days of finding love at the dance. Vogue delves deep into the complex world of ‘sugaring’ and finds that there’s a darker side to the glamorous façade of the sugar lifestyle sold online.
