Episode Six

In the final episode of the series, summer is drawing to a close and it’s time for Brian and Meeda to prepare for autumn. And nothing says autumn like a garden full of enormous pumpkins! After four and a half months of growing, the gardeners’ pumpkins are ready to be harvested and carved. Educator John Wilkins arrives at the visitor centre with a group of hyper school children to do just that.

We pay a final visit to head deer keeper Terry Moore and learn about the lengths the bucks and stags go to in their attempts to find a doe who will stick with them through rutting season.

It’s also time for the annual Phoenix Park Honey Show and we’re following champion beekeeper Paul Boyle as he competes for another year.

In a moving series finale, we join Frank Greally, organiser of the Phoenix Park Remembrance Run, for the annual event in honour of those who have passed away.
