In recent years, the solo violin music of Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber has become known, in no small part, thanks to several exquisite recordings of his so-called ‘Mystery Sonatas’.
Although you’ll get to hear a few of these famous works on this morning’s Vox Nostra, the programme will also shine the spotlight on some of the composer’s lesser-known but equally marvellous works – many of them quite extended and requiring large forces, such as his Salzburg Mass.
