Debussy’s Pelleas et Melisande
Tonight’s production of Claude Debussy’s only completed opera, the world première of which took place at the Paris Opéra Comique in 1902 comes from the Vienna State Opera and features Baritone Simon Keenlyside as Golaud, Soprano Olga Bezsmertna as Melisande, baritone Adrian Erod is Pelleas, Bernarda Fink is Genevieve, Franz-Josef Selig is Arkel and the Orchestra and Chorus of the Vienna State Opera is conducted by Alain Altinoglu.
