EPISODE 4     

Story – “A Second Chance”

Wexford man Shane O’Neill, who has a history of drugs and burglary offences, had unfortunately found himself doing time in Gent Prison in Belgium. When he was released he went to the Irish Embassy in Brussels to ask for the price of a flight home but the embassy. While in the waiting room in the embassy Shane got talking to Dublin man Charlie Kiernan who was waiting for a passport. Realising Shanes tough situation Charlie booked him a flight with his phone and bought Shane breakfast. The two men travelled home together and when Shane asked Charlie how he could repay him Charlie said pay it forward. Since then Shane has been completely drug free and has got full time work as a skilled plasterer. He credits the Good Samaritan gesture by Charlie as his reason for his change of lifestyle.

Story – “Anne Herlihy”

Anne Herlihy called Liveline to chat to Joe about her travel insurance issue. She phoned to say her travel insurance was €1,200 for four days because she had been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She told Joe how she has created a bucket list of things to do before she dies. She wants to renew her marriage vows, to  do a flying lesson, driving lesson and learn to sing Both Sides Now.

In Liveline Callback Anne tells her story and reveals how she is getting on with her bucket list.

When  Marianne Crowley discovered she’s been wearing the wrong wedding ring for years contacted Liveline in the hope Joe can help her solve this starange mystery!
