If you look back at the landscape of Irish music in the 1990s, the name An Emotional Fish is clearly visible. ‘Junk Puppets’ was the Dublin’s band second album, and saw them work with producers Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Foals, U2, etc.) and Dave Stewart (Mick Jagger, Alisha’s Attic, etc.) The band also toured with U2 on their Zoo TV/Zooropa tour.
For The Record this week, Dan features tracks from ‘Junk Puppets’ on The Alternative every day Monday to Thursday. In 1993, An Emotional Fish’s vocalist was a gentleman called Ger Whelan; we know him today as Jerry Fish. He speaks to Dan about the album on Wednesday’s show.
