Fast and Not Furious, to TX on RTÉ One, Saturday 24th June @ 1745

Christmas in June? At the end of this month the Muslim community around the world will celebrate the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr.

Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, and is a month where Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

Eid al-Fitr is one of the main dates in the Muslim calendar, and in a way their equivalent of Christmas, where families celebrates the end of the holy fasting month in food and family orientated celebrations.
In this upbeat and fast paced short, we meet Bohemian FC star Fuad Sule who’s been tweeting his way through Ramadan and carrying on with his regular football training while fasting.
We also catch up with Waterford Czech born professional photographer Bara Alich who converted to Islam after meeting her husband. Bara shares her romantic love story and tells how her faith helps her see the essence of each person she photographs.
We also talk to Shayke Dr Umar Al Qadri, the Imam who’s been guiding his congregation through turbulent times for Muslims when the media tends to associate their religion with terrorist extremists.
Lorraine of Muslim Sisters of Eire, takes us through the preparations of feeding the homeless at the GPO, and finally a vibrant bunch of young hip Muslims gather the community on the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral grounds to break the fast with the community in peace, fun and harmony at the Under One Tent festival.
