Rugby legend Donncha O’Callaghan joins RTÉ’s Ireland’s Fittest Family coaching line-up 

Ireland’s Fittest Family 2017 will see 12 mega-fit families compete against each other, in what promises to be the most gruelling contest yet, as they compete to win the coveted title and the €15,000 prize money. The families will be tested across some incredibly tough courses as the series is shot around the country this summer.

Discussing his upcoming role on the show Donncha said “After watching it at home for years I’m dying to get stuck into Ireland’s Fittest Family…and personally I can’t think of a better way to spend a summer than winding- up Davy Fitz!”

Series 4 of Ireland’s Fittest Family on Sundays on RTÉ One* attracted an average audience of 391,000** viewers across the season with the final last December 18 watched by 462,000** people as Anna Geary’s Cummins family from Tipperary ran out winners.

Having previously won series two Olympic athlete Derval O’Rourke is returning to build on her victory, speaking determinedly about winning again Derval said “I’m very excited to be returning to Fittest Family, as the winner of series two I’m out to prove it was no fluke as I take on Davy, Anna and Donncha – did I mention that I had Two families in the final of series two? Just sayin’ like.
