Super Garden – Series 9
Each of the designers will be allocated a real garden to transform, with real challenges to overcome. With a tight budget and just five weeks to meet the homeowner’s needs and build a Super Garden worthy of a spot at Bloom, the series follows each designer from the initial concept and design stage, through the reality of the construction process to the all important judging day.
The decision of which Super Garden will be recreated to represent Woodies and Cuprinol at Bloom 2017 lies in the hands of the Super Garden Judges; Bloom Show Manager, Gary Graham, Bloom Gold Medalist and Woodies Garden Design Ambassador, Leonie Cornelius and representing Cuprinol, garden design lecturer Monica Alverez.

The series will visit, Kilmacud in Dublin, Annacotty in Limerick, Newtownmountkennedy in Wicklow, Clonsilla in Dublin and Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Designer: Ashling Harrison (47), Rathgar, Dublin
Occupation: Director of Headhunt International Recruitment
Successful business owner Ashling Harrison lives in Rathgar with her husand Bart and their two sons, Zac (14) and Nathan (6). Ashling has been at the helm of Head Hunt International Recruitment for almost thirty years, but is happiest when up to her neck in mud in the garden. Since moving into her family home in Rathgar 3 years ago, she has transformed her overgrown 1.6 acre garden into a spectacular cottage style space. Ashling is currently studying horticulture and dreams of become a successful garden designer. When Ashling takes something on, she wants to be the best. Super Garden would give her the validation she needs to know she has what it takes to go all the way to the top.
Homeowners: Oran (20) and Anna Grainger (50), Stillorgan, Dublin
Occupations: Student and Secretary
Oran applied to Super Garden to surprise his super mum Anna for her 50th birthday in March. Anna is a single mum and has been a source of strength and admiration to her son as he battled glandular fever and more recently, Type 1 diabetes. Oran feels that his mum sacrificed a lot for him over the years and now desperately wants to give something back.
