VOX NOSTRA WITH VLAD SMISHKEWYCH

Flute Image Name: Flute

To kick off this week leading up to Saint Patrick’s Day, Vox Nostra explores a number of instruments that are often associated with Ireland: flutes, whistles, pipes, even mandolins, banjos and bouzoukis – and of course, our national emblem – the harp. But to take this journey down an early-music path, our host searches for the roots of Irish traditional instruments and the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque versions that preceded our beloved feadóg, uilleann pipes, and traditional flute. Discover new facets of both Irish trad and historic performance, and join Vlad at 7am this Sunday for Vox Nostra.
