CONCEPT:
Rebecca and Jack get into an argument about starting a family. The family backstory behind the long line of love for the Pittsburg Steelers is revealed. After accepting his part in the play, Kevin realizes his script is relevant to his own life. Randall and Beth encounter an unexpected turn of events.
SYNOPSIS:
Stirred up by memories of her father, Rebecca takes an interest in football, which has an effect on her children. Later, during Super Bowl Sunday, Jack grows worried over his wife’s apparent lack of interest in having kids, and their discussion sparks an altercation. Meanwhile, when Kevin unexpectedly drops in on Randall and Beth, they take an opportunity for some time away. Kate reluctantly includes Toby in her ritual of watching football, but when he asks a friend to join, she reaches her breaking point. Kevin studies hard for his stage debut, but disaster ensues when he asks his nieces to help him. Beth reveals some potentially life-changing news to Randall. After Rebecca and Jack have a heart-to-heart discussion, the moment of one of their children’s conception is revealed. William causes Kevin to reflect on his weaknesses, which leads to Kevin speaking to his nieces about the history of their family.
