Fans of the RTÉ television series Super Garden will be familiar with the designer Roisin Lafferty who is one of the programme’s judges .  Nationwide reporter Valerie Waters goes to meet Roisin in Ranelagh in Dublin 6 to find out more about this award-winning creative woman who is a designer of both outdoor and indoor spaces.  She shows Valerie the work she did upgrading the house and garden.

Reporter Niall Martin visits Wolf Tone Square near Jervis Street in Dublin City where he finds an old restored tram.  Over the last two years, Nationwide has been following this unusual restoration which has now become a visitor attraction in Dublin City Centre.

How many of us look at our homes and wish we could update them with newer furniture in more modern shades? While the budget may not stretch to new pieces, painting an outdated shabby piece of furniture can give it a new lease of life.  Reporter Helen McInerney travels to Clonmel in County Tipperary to meet Joanne Condon who has turned her artistic skills into a business.

Wednesday 1st March, 7.00pm, RTÉ One.

President Michael D. Higgins has recently completed state visits to Peru, Colombia and Cuba.  It was his third visit to Latin America, a region where Ireland has many connections and hopes to build closer ties. RTÉ’s Dublin Correspondent John Kilraine went along to find out what it was all about.

Also on the programme, we meet a Dublin family who went on holidays to Cuba 17 years ago where they experienced overwhelming hospitality and generosity.  Ever since then. they’ve gone back there nearly every year, having raised money in Dublin to fund the buying of guitars for Cuban musicians.  Valerie Waters goes to their home and hears some gorgeous guitar playing.

Finally, over the last number of years, many  people of different nationalities with many different talents have decided to emigrate here, and quickly call Ireland home.  Maria Mullarkey meets one such couple who set up their own studios and gallery nearly ten years ago in County Kerry.
