The Ray D’Arcy Show Line Up Includes
Olivia Newton-John, Commander Chris Hadfield & Alison Spittle
Coming up on The Ray D’Arcy Show this week:
The first Canadian astronaut to walk in space, Commander Chris Hadfield, will join Ray on Saturday night. He will chat about his new children’s book The Darkest Dark, how he overcame his fear of the dark as a child and why it is important to always dream big. And the popular astronaut will reveal why he is back in Dublin.
The Ray D’Arcy Show is doing a call out to children who always wanted to meet a real life astronaut or dreamed about being one. If you know someone who fits the bill, then watch this very special message from Commander Chris Hadfield and get in touch with The Ray D’Arcy Show ASAP! The show is looking for a child from anywhere in the country – not just Dublin.
If you know someone who fits this description contact: theraydarcyshow@rte.ie and please make sure to put the heading “Astronaut” in the subject line!
International superstar Olivia Newton-John and her friends – singers Amy Sky and Beth Nielsen Chapman – will join Ray in studio tomorrow night. As a breast cancer “thriver”, Olivia promotes awareness of breast health and has set up a Cancer and Wellness centre in Australia. Olivia will also talk career highlights, with next year marking the 40th anniversary of Grease – the film that made her name. She will discuss how she’s collaborated with Amy and Beth on a new album, Liv On which is inspired by their experiences of life and loss.
Niall McHugh and Stephen Lannon, who’ve recently come to the attention of the Irish public after they valiantly fought for life changing drugs for their babies, will also feature on the show. Niall is the dad of five month old Lara and Stephen’s daughter Nelly is 22 months old. Both girls have SMA1, a fatal genetic muscle wasting disorder. Their parents have successfully campaigned to get access to a new life changing drug called Spinraza for their daughter. They will chat to Ray about their courageous campaign.
Rising star Alison Spittle will chat to Ray about breaking though the notoriously tough Irish comedy scene and will discuss what projects shes working on for both the BBC and RTÉ.
Music by Rake the Ashes.
