Katie Taylor to give first major television interview since turning professional on Friday’s The Late Late Show

Boxing champ Katie Taylor joins Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show couch this Friday night in her first major television interview since turning professional.

The Bray fighter will be jetting in from New York where she has been undergoing a whole new and intense training regime with a top US trainer as she prepares to step into the professional ring for the first time. We will be hearing why she decided to make the leap from amateur to professional and we’ll get her thoughts on that controversial and emotional defeat at the Rio Olympics.

Six years after finishing runner-up on The X Factor, Olly Murs is onto his fifth album, becoming one of the most successful and enduring solo acts to emerge from the show. We’ll be finding out how he did it and why he has been channeling his heartache after a recent break-up into his new music. Plus, he’ll be performing his latest hit.

She has built her business, Cocoa Brown, into a market leader at home and now Marissa Carter has set her sights on cracking America. We’ll be hearing how she’s going to do it and she’s going to be giving a live demonstration of the Kardashian’s favourite – 3D tanning.

Also joining Ryan will be some extraordinary young people who, through circumstances beyond their and their family’s control, find themselves caring for a sibling. Aged between 13-and-16-years-old, we’ll be hearing what life is like for these young carers and what needs to be done to give them more help.

As the The Rubberbandits prepare to unveil their guide to sex in their new documentary show, Blindboy Boatclub will be filling viewers in on their unique philosophy for life. We’ll also be hearing his strong views on the need to tackle mental health in Ireland.

Having been diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer’s five years ago, Helen Rochford Brennan will be sharing her story, alongside her son Martin, and telling viewers why she believes that people with the condition should be able to stay at home as long as possible.

All that and music from Ray Lynam.
