Search is brand new on RTÉ2 every Monday and Friday at 6pm – Starting on Monday October 31st at 6pm.
“Search” takes the quiz show to the street and people are invited at random to stop and become quiz show contestants.
And there is something else quite unique about this new RTE2 quiz, if you don’t know the answer to a question you can search for the answer using your phone. With limited search time the winners are those who know the most and search the least.
Over the last month the quiz show has visited high streets across Ireland getting contestants to test their knowledge and show off their handset skills. The people who step forward are very different from the people who normally apply to take part in quiz shows, there are no auditions, they just happen to be in the right place at the right time when Search is on the street.
The show was created by Vision Independent Productions (VIP), the makers of Operation Transformation, Ploughing Live and Super Garden.
The host of the show is Niamh Geaney from Kerry who was working with VIP on their Twinstrangers.com site (It helps people find their Doppelgangers and Niamh has three!).
