The final which saw Dungarvan’s O’Brien Devines crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family saw a 15 minute peak of 574,500 as the series reached a thrilling climax.
Series three averaged 437,000 across its seven week run.
Genre Head for Entertainment, RTÉ television John McHugh commented “It’s great to see a family entertainment show like Ireland’s Fittest Family prove so popular with RTÉ One viewers. It makes for perfect Sunday evening viewing and it’s gratifying that Irish viewers chose an original Irish format in greater numbers than other entertainment finals on television last night and that season three proved to be the most popular yet.”
Season three of the show saw the fittest, fastest and strongest families in the country put everything on the line to be the last family standing at the end of the gruelling fitness competition.
Two new coaches Munster rugby legend Alan Quinlan and Cork Camogie champion Anna Geary also joined the show’s coaching line-up alongside the show’s veteran coach Davy Fitz and last year’s newbie Jason Sherlock.
