‘Mooney Goes Wild’ – Derek Mooney and guests explore the natural world on Sunday nights starting on 5 April.
In the first show, biologist Terry Flanagan highlights the plight of owls facing death on Kerry’s roads; film maker Josh Zeman, in discussion with wildlife expert Dr Richard Collins, about his search for ‘52’, described as the ‘loneliest whale in the world’, whose sounds no other whale can understand; environmentalist Eanna ni Lamhna discovers more about the ‘Bat Species of the Year’, Nathusius’ Pipstrelle, whose cross border activity is exposed by Dr Emma Teeling of UCD; the exotic pest posing a new threat to the honey bee, the ‘small hive beetle’, comes under the scrutiny of expert beekeeper Philip McCabe.
