Proinsias O’Conluain speaks to some of the men of Ulster, about what it was like to live in the North of Ireland during the year 1916.
We are now well versed with many of the incredible stories to come out of Dublin during the 1916 rising, however the stories of others around the country have for the most part been put to one side. This documentary is an insight into what it was like for some of the men from the North who lived through one of Ireland’s most significant historical events.
Some had been in Dublin and were sent back home before the rising started, whilst others tried to make the Journey to the country’s capital to join the rebellion effort.
In this piece we hear the incredible tales of 7 men from the North of Ireland, who take us back on a journey into one of the most significant periods of their life, and of our country’s history.
