Over One Million Viewers tune in to RTÉ2 to see Ireland defeat England in the RBS 6 Nations

An average of 1.01 million* people tuned into RTÉ2’s live match coverage yesterday as Ireland beat England 19-9 at the Aviva Stadium to keep their Grand Slam dream alive. The audience peaked at 1.2 million** as the game reached its climax. RTÉ2’s entire coverage including pre- match build and analysis after the game was watched by an average of 756,200.***

Additionally there were 100,780 live streams of the game on RTÉ Player.

RTÉ One also enjoyed big viewing figures at the weekend with Friday’s Late Late Show Eurosong Special attracting an average of 638,300 while The Saturday Night Show on the following night drew an average of 469,500 viewers.

On Sunday night The Voice of Ireland continued to attract huge audiences with 595,500 tuning in while RTÉ News: Nine O’Clock drew an average of 638,700, Fair City had an average of 548,500 and Room to Improve saw an average of 544,600.
