Irish Open Golf confirmed for RTÉ2 for next three years

 

In an agreement reached with The European Tour the 2015 Irish Open at Royal County Down Golf Club on May 28-31, as well as the following two renewals in 2016 and 2017, will be shown live and in HD on RTÉ2 as reigning champion Finland’s Mikko Ilonen defends his title against a world class field including Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler.

Ryle Nugent, Group Head of Sport, RTÉ said: “We are delighted to be able to confirm today that RTÉ Sport has secured live rights to this significant event in the calendar for the Irish audience. The Irish Open has long been a staple of the Irish sporting summer and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to Irish viewers for the next three years, beginning of course with this year’s Open at Royal County Down.”
