RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player to show coverage of Stephanie Roche’s big night at the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2014 in Zurich

Next Monday 12 January RTÉ2 (highlights), RTÉ Player and www.rte.ie/sport (live) will bring Irish viewers coverage from Zurich of the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2014 as the presentation of the FIFA Puskás Award 2014 for the best goal scored in the world between October 3 2013 and September 26 2014 takes place.

 

Ireland’s Stephanie Roche has made the final three in this year’s FIFA Puskás Award for her wonder strike for Peamount United against Wexford Youths in the Bus Eireann National League on October 20 2013.

Stephanie is up against Colombia’s James Rodriguez and the Netherlands’ Robin van Persie both of whose nominated goals were scored in last summer’s FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The FIFA Ballon d’Or 2014 will be shown live in its entirely on RTÉ Player and on www.rte.ie/sport from 5.30pm on Monday 12 January.

 

RTÉ2 will have highlights of the presentation of the Puskás Award from 11.15pm on Monday 12 January which will also see Jacqui Hurley interview Stephanie.
