Danny and Connor Hughes live together and work together and spend as much time as they can together.
Connor is Danny’s only son- his only child. Danny is in his 90’s and although age is not on his side his youthful attitude and his wonderful spirit and enthusiasm thankfully are.
Danny still runs his seaside shop in Blackrock, Co.Louth and he still writes a story every day in life. His son Connor runs a music shop next door. The unique bond they share is apparent as is the respect they hold for one another.
The programme looks at Danny and Connor’s life together and in places is touching as they talk about adapting to change, old age and dying, yet it is light hearted when they look back on the joys of life.
This is a glimpse into their private, even magical, world; a simple world of two people who are quite happy just being themselves.
The many wonderful tales told in this documentary show that, while age may slow you down physically, you still can go places in your mind, and memories – good and bad – should be celebrated.
It reveals the positive effects of aging and how many of us have the ability to be happy and free just by having an active imagination, by embracing life and not being scared.
