Broadcast Details: Tuesday 30th September, 7.00pm
Bruce Gladwin, artistic director of Back to Back Theatre discusses his controversial work 'Ganesh Versus The Third Reich'. This is a play which tackles an incredibly powerful and emotive subject - the Nazi's programme for mass extermination of the disabled - coupled with the journey of Ganesh to reclaim the swastika, an ancient Sanskrit symbol. Striding across the stage are the characters of Adolf Hitler, Josef Mengele, people with various disabilities and the elephant-headed deity Ganesh. This is not an easy watch, but how ethical is it? Should theatre be this disturbing?
