RTÉ2 are delighted to partner with the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film board (IFB) aiming to screen a host of Irish feature films on Saturday nights. To mark this new partnership RTÉ2 will screen the first TV broadcast of the hit film The Hardy Bucks Movie, which was released in cinemas last year. This partnership underlines RTÉ2s and the IFB’s commitment to showcase the best of Irish talent. Irish movies are always a huge hit with viewers and RTÉ2 viewers can look forward to exciting new movies like The Guard, Adam and Paul, When Harvey Met Bob, The Boxer and What Richard Did.
The Hardy Bucks Movie
Based on the award winning Irish comedy TV series, The Hardy Bucks Movie follows a like able gang of slackers from the West of Ireland as they set out on a last minute road trip to watch their national football team compete in the 2012 European Championships in Poland. However, after an unscheduled stop over in Amsterdam and a run in with Dutch gangsters, the lads become entrusted with a mysterious package they have to take with them to Poland. With the arrival of The Viper, the hardy Bucks’ arch nemesis and Polish gangsters now involved, the lads will have to do some quick thinking if they are going to get to Poland in one piece.
