At age 16 Kate Tempest was rapping at strangers on buses and pestering rave venues to let her on the mic. 10 years later she is a published playwright, novelist and poet. She frequently sells-out venues where she ‘performs’ her poetry and her bookshelves are starting to strain from the weight of awards she’s garnering. She shares her story on today’s Arena and she’ll be a guest at this year’s Kilkenny Arts Festival.
