THE FAMILY PROJECT The fifth episode of The Family Project centres around 16 year old Declan O' Brien, who lives in Loughrea, Co.Galway with his family. Declan has been frustrated by undiagnosed difficulties throughout his schooling and recently dropped out of secondary school. His parents early school leavers also, want a better life for their son, but are running out of options. Enter John Spillane, a straight talking singer song writer, who sets out to convince Declan about the merits of finishing what you started. John is convinced that with further understanding about his issues, and a confidence boost, Declan can get back on track. Over the episode John works with Declan on a song writing project and arranges for Declan to perform his song at a festival.
