On this week’s programme Bernadette Devlin McAliskey speaks with the late Nollaig Ó Gadhra in a series of interviews recorded in 1969 and 1970, and probably never before broadcast. She describes all aspects of her political philosophy, and refers to the major political figures and political parties at the time as the “Troubles” were simmering in the North. She also reveals her disdain for the political parties and politicians in the South who proclaimed their support for the struggle in the North. These unedited field recordings were given to Ian Lee by Nollaig Ó Gadhra in 1988, to be donated to the RTÉ Sound Archive.
