Sammy is a curious little squirrel who has a passion for discovering new things. One day whilst jumping from tree to tree in his park, he finds himself in a completely unfamiliar world, in a zoo full of unusual and exotic creatures, each with a story to tell.
A world of new languages opens up at the zoo, with Hindi, Swahili, Portuguese, Spanish, and Arabic among just some of the many languages Sammy learns on his travels. And because Sammy loves languages nearly as much as his favourite food, beechnuts. He’s spurred on to investigate this wonderful place, despite the dangers he may encounter.
Meeting all species, from the Sumatran tiger to the Californian Sea Lion, from a shy Brazilian Tapir to a pair of showy peacocks. Sammy’s adventure is coloured with stories of strange and exciting lands. But when he finds out there’s more to his story, Sammy begins to look at the world in a different way.
