The body of Edith Firlock, a federal attorney, is found across the border in Juarez. With no record of her having even crossed into Mexico, the local authorities are baffled.

Patrick Jane (series star SIMON BAKER), an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation and psychological manipulation. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a former psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. His final act in playing a psychic was to challenge the serial killer Red John on television — resulting in the murder of Jane’s wife and daughter.  Now, Jane longs for revenge, having narrowed down Red John’s identity to a list of seven possible suspects.  Jane’s role in cracking a series of tough, high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents; however no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon (series star ROBIN TUNNEY) alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane’s usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries.  Lisbon’s team includes agents Kimball Cho (series star TIM KANG), Wayne Rigsby (series star OWAIN YEOMAN), and Grace Van Pelt (series star AMANDA RIGHETTI), who all agree that Jane is a loose cannon, but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases

And then there were seven…  Armed with a list of seven Red John suspects (confirmed by the diabolical killer himself), Patrick Jane and the CBI team are closing in on the elusive serial killer, while solving the state’s most serious crimes.  Could Red John be cult leader Bret Stiles (guest star MALCOLM McDOWELL)?  Ghoulish forensic analyst Brett Partridge (guest star JACK PLOTNICK)? The super-suspicious Homeland Security Agent Bob Kirkland (guest star KEVIN CORRIGAN)?  Law officials Ray Haffner (guest star REED DIAMOND), Reede Smith (guest star DREW POWELL), or Sheriff McAllister (guest star XANDER BERKELEY)?  Or the director of the CBI himself, Gale Bertram (guest star MICHAEL GASTON)?  The chase is on in Season Six.

It doesn’t appear that it was a cartel hit, and the clues soon point to Gadsden Grove Farm, a commune on the Mexican border. Jane must figure out who at the farm was responsible.
