The Rescue is a story of danger and adventure for children commissioned by RTÉ lyric fm in 2007.

One night Fintan is woken in his bedroom by a tapping sound on his window. He goes to investigate and is suddenly dragged into another world where everything is strange, cows eat pizza and people have green skin.

Fintan has to help a young girl, Lime, rescue her brother from the evil of the Great Bramble Castle. In doing so he learns to overcome his own fears and helps his mother and father recover from the death of their youngest child.

The music for The Rescue was composed by Fergal Carroll to a story written by Maighread Medhbh. It is performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by David Brophy and narrated by Killinascully actor Louis Lovett, Ireland’s critically acclaimed actor for young audience.
