This week Blathnaid is with the Kerry Mountain rescue team as they come to the aid of a teenager who has fallen in the Kerry mountains and has sustained a serious concussion.
For the past year, State Emergency Services and volunteer groups have been filming with RTÉ to capture rescues and tragedies as they unfold. With no second chances, this small and efficient band of professionals and volunteers often put themselves in danger for the lives of others. Capturing real rescues as they happen, this series was filmed using hundreds of small portable cameras.
Exclusive to RTÉ, and for the first time ever, the series follows the Rapid Response Doctors who bring emergency medicine to the roadside. The result is a unique insight into an intimate and high octane world, where training, the human spirit and bravery triumph over adversity.
