Blathnaid is with the Irish Coast guard on night ops training. Also, a man has broken his leg up a tree, and the rapid response doctors are called.
Ireland’s Search and Rescue:
Presented by Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh and back on RTÉ One in late October, Ireland’s Search and Rescue captures real rescues in the darkest nights and roughest seas.
For the past year, State Emergency Services and volunteer groups have been filming with RTÉ to capture rescues and tragedies as they unfold. With no second chances, this small and efficient band of professionals and volunteers often put themselves in danger for the lives of others. Capturing real rescues as they happen, this series was filmed using hundreds of small portable cameras.
Exclusive to RTÉ, and for the first time ever, the series follows the Rapid Response Doctors who bring emergency medicine to the roadside. The result is a unique insight into an intimate and high octane world, where training, the human spirit and bravery triumph over adversity.
