VERDI MACBETH

Verdi was really trying something new here, and the excitement of his ability to set Shakespeare to music (and perhaps add a different dimension to it) burns throughout.

In that spirit, the Opera Night team rises to the challenge of bringing this tale of darkness and shadows alive. This is a kingdom where horses go insane and devour each others’ meat while they are still alive; a world where Lady Macbeth prays to devils to possess her mind, turn the milk in her breasts into bile, and give her a man’s ability to do evil.  And you thought Love/Hate was exciting?!
