RTÉ ONE’S LOVE/HATE STARTS SERIES FOUR WITH THE MOST-WATCHED EPISODE SO FAR
An average of 971,000* viewers watched the first episode of the new series of Love/Hate last night (Sunday 6th Oct) on RTÉ One, making it the most-watched episode of Love/Hate ever.
Over 53% of all people watching TV tuned in to see the return of Nidge and his gang to our screens, with 1.3 million** viewers tuning in at some point during the transmission.
By way of comparison, last year’s first episode of series 3 aired on Sunday November 11th 2012 and was watched by an average of 630,700*** viewers, representing a 35% share of all people watching TV at the time.
RTÉ Head of Drama Jane Gogan said, “We’re delighted with last night’s viewing figures. Love/Hate’s special appeal comes from the creativity and ingenuity of the many people involved in making the series so it is particularly pleasing to see the work strike a chord with so many. I hope that the audience enjoy the remaining episodes of series 4.”
