Fiddle-player Zoë Conway joins Peter Browne in studio to talk about the new album called “Go Mairir i bhFad – Long Life to You” which she has recently brought out together with her husband, guitarist John McIntyre.
The concept behind the disc is novel; with assistance from the Arts Council and Music Network, she commissioned 12 composers to each write a new piece of music reflecting or incorporating the traditional idiom and this new disc is the result.
Zoë will talk about how the project was first conceived and brought to fruition through the various stages and of course we’ll hear several of the tracks from the album during the programme.
