Presented by Bernard Clarke, Nova is about new music, chronicling what’s radical and what’s conservative, who’s established and who’s in the avant garde.
A blend of contemporary classical, electronic, experimental and more.
Tonight the programme marks Easter with a performance of James MacMillan’s Seven Last Words from the Cross with the BBC Singers conducted by Fergus Sheil and recorded last Sunday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
James MacMillan’s sublime reflection on Jesus’ last words from the cross has been described by The Guardian as “probably MacMillan’s masterpiece… the maturity in this composition is astounding.”
