RTÉ ANNOUNCE NEW WINNING STREAK PRESENTER
RTÉ is delighted to announce that Geri Maye will become the new co-presenter on Winning Streak with Marty Whelan.
Geri Maye has plenty of experience on the show having presented the Dream Maker Wheel segment for the last two and a half years and has presented on occasions for former presenter Kathryn Thomas.
Geri said, “I am absolutely thrilled to have been chosen to work alongside Marty. Winning Streak is a much loved programme and there’s nothing like the buzz that comes from working on a show with a live studio audience who are all waving their banners and shouting encouragement to the contestants. It’s a joy to see the elation on peoples’ faces as they win cars, holidays and cash prizes. I’m really looking forward to working with the Winning Streak team and the National Lottery in 2012.”

The first show of the new series kicks off on Saturday January 7th 2012 and scratch cards for the new series go on sale in all stores countrywide at the end of this week. We would also like to thank Kathryn Thomas for her work on the show which has contributed to making Winning Streak one of the most popular programmes in RTÉ’s schedules in the last 21 years.”
Commissioning Editor for Entertainment in RTÉ, Bill Malone said: “For 21 years Winning Streak has been one of the most popular entertainment programmes on Irish television and I am delighted that Geri Maye is to be the show’s new presenter. Geri is already a firm favourite on Winning Streak each week and has proved hugely popular when she has presented the programme with Marty in the past.”
Each week, five players will join hosts Marty and Geri to play for a chance to win some fantastic cash prizes. After a number of tense and dramatic games including Cash Cubes, Dare to Share and The Wheel Reveal one contestant will have the chance to spin the illustrious grand prize wheel. In association with the National Lottery the top prize on the gameshow is €500,000 and players can walk away with more than that depending on how much they win during the course of the show.
To date in 2011 (January 1st to December 17th) over €9.2 million euro has been won by contestants taking part in Winning Streak. 35 cars and 68 holidays were snapped up by lucky participants.
Tune in on Saturdays from January 7th 2012 for what promises to be a fun, entertaining show for all the family on Saturday nights.
