Ceantar na nOileán is a group of islands situated between Cuan Chill Chiaráin and Cuan an Fhir Mhóir, 56km west of Galway city. Access to the islands is by a chain of bridges and causeways, and the main islands are Eanach Mheáin, Leitir Móir, Garumna and Leitir Mealláin, although there are several other small islands as well and today Tomás Mac Con Iomaire visits one of these smaller islands, Inis Eirc, with Mairéad Ní Chualáin who was born and raised there.

Tá Ceantar na nOileán suite idir Cuan Chill Chiaráin agus Cuan an Fhir Mhóir, 56km siar ó chathair na Gaillimhe agus tá na hoileáin ceangailte le tír mór le droichid. Is iad Eanach Mheáin, Leitir Móir, Garumna agus Leitir Mealláin na príomh oileáin agus tá oileáin bheaga eile ag síneadh amach uathu, agus inniu tabharfaidh Tomás Mac Con Iomaire a aghaidh ar cheann acu sin, Inis Eirc, i gcuideachta Mhairéad Ní Chualáin a rugadh agus a tógadh ann.
